Armon, a former wire reporter and public relations executive, has been PR Newswire's president of the Americas division since October 2000 overseeing sales and marketing for the United States, Brazil and Mexico. In his new role as COO, Armon will lead PR Newswire's global sales, marketing, and distribution operations throughout 41 bureaus in 14 countries.

CEO, Charles Gregson commented on Armon's appointment, "Dave has been instrumental in the growth of the Americas division of PR Newswire for more than 14 years. Through his many positions within the organization, Dave's vision, expertise and creativity have helped PR Newswire grow the market leading position it has enjoyed for nearly 50 years. Dave is extremely well qualified to lead PR Newswire's global operations and his vast knowledge of and experience in the communications industry will benefit the global organization significantly. "

"I have been awarded such amazing opportunities throughout my career at PR Newswire and I have been lucky to work with some of the best people in the business," said Armon. "I look forward to expanding that network to include my colleagues around the world and to growing the global business together."

With Armon's focus expanding globally, PR Newswire's Stuart Dean, former West Coast Regional Vice President will become Senior Vice President of Sales for PR Newswire Americas and Mark Nowlan, former Vice President of Marketing, will become Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications. Both positions will report to Armon.

Armon joined PR Newswire in 1989 as Cleveland bureau manager and soon became Midwest regional vice president. In 1998, Armon moved to New York to become vice president of national sales during which time he is credited with broadening the company's product offering to include interactive services and chairing a committee whose recommendations led to PR Newswire's presence on the World Wide Web. Armon also played a role in some of the company's more significant acquisitions and integrations such as ProfNet, eWatch and PR News Service.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Armon earned a B.A. in journalism from Syracuse University's Utica College and has attended graduate business programs at Cornell University and the American Management Association. He lives in Westchester, N.Y.
