As part of its 2008 Charitable Giving program, which focuses on 'Doing Well by Doing Good', PR Newswire employees voted on charities located in each area where the company has substantial operations. As a part of the program, employees volunteer their time to the organization as a group and the company makes a cash donation. A New Day Youth and Family Services, which provides refuge, education, prevention, intervention and therapeutic services to youth at risk in Central New Mexico communities, has already benefited from PR Newswire's volunteers and resources.

"A New Day Youth and Family Services relies a great deal on volunteers to help make these services available and to provide a safe and stable environment for N.M. children ages 11 to 17 who have been abused neglected, abandoned and/or exploited," said Karen Anderson, Education Director, A New Day Youth and Family Services. "The local PR Newswire staff has been instrumental in helping us meet our fund-raising objectives to assist these needy children in the Central New Mexico communities."

On October 25, PR Newswire employees assisted A New Day Youth and Family Services at the "Boo Ball", a black tie fundraiser, by setting up, cleaning up and monitoring silent auction tables. In addition, the Albuquerque PR Newswire staff donated a plethora of hygiene products, such as shampoos, toothpaste, toothbrushes and combs, to the shelter.

"When PR Newswire helped to help make our kids' Christmas a happy event, I was truly grateful. Being away from their friends and families during the holidays is really difficult for these young people. We try to make this time of the year as pleasant as possible for them, and the gifts from PR Newswire's employees will make a big difference in how these kids view our community," stated Ms. Andersen.

"The employees in PR Newswire's Albuquerque bureau were eager to get involved with A New Day Youth and Family Services and help the less fortunate children in our community," said Sarah McDaniel, manager, offices services and charitable giving advocate, PR Newswire. "Our staff in Albuquerque is always willing to give a helping hand, and have gone above and beyond what has been asked of them. In addition to A New Day Youth and Family Services, their chosen charity, the Albuquerque staff has also given their time and donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Roadrunner Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and the University of New Mexico Children's Hospital."

"Even though PR Newswire is a global company operating around the world, our employees find it rewarding to volunteer in their local communities," said Charles Gregson, chief executive officer, PR Newswire. "Many nonprofit organizations need financial resources, and while we are helping out with monetary grants, we still find that charities value a helping hand from dedicated volunteers as well. Our 2008 Charitable Giving Program allows our staff to be involved throughout the whole process, choosing a worthy charity and coming together to work for them. A New Day Youth and Family Services is an enormously admirable organization and we are delighted to be able to support them in this way."

PR Newswire provides assistance to non-profit organizations in a number of different ways including through direct grants, volunteerism, in-kind donations and sponsorships. PR Newswire also matches employee fundraising, volunteering and individual donations.
