IABC President's Award recipients are individuals selected by the IABC/BC President and Executive Committee and have gone above and beyond, pushed their creativity and displayed excellence in their volunteer work for the organization.  Since taking on the role as VP of Membership in January 2011, Pace has become a reliable source for spreading chapter news to existing and potential members and has also significantly increased attendance at the chapter's monthly development lunch events which are designed to promote professional development and provide networking opportunities to local communications professionals.

"The opportunities that IABC allow me  - to work alongside tenured communications professionals on committees, judging panels and events  -  are rewarding, memorable and educational," said Micky Pace, executive account manager, PR Newswire.  "My work with the chapter has had a tremendous impact on my own career, and I feel fortunate to be able to pay it forward by mentoring and engaging with recent graduates who are just beginning their careers in the communications industry."

"Micky is the classic 'up front – behind the scenes person,' helping broadly promote our activities as well as interacting directly with our members to ensure they get the most out of membership," said Mike Machak, President of IABC Nashville. "She has made countless contributions to our chapter over the past two years and is extremely deserving of the 2012 President's Award."

Pace was honored at the 2012 Gold Pen Awards ceremony on Thursday, October 25 at the Hard Rock Cafe Nashville in the heart of Music City.   In addition to the President's Award, IABC Nashville presented the Fellow Award, Excel Award and Career Achievement Award to three additional deserving chapter volunteers.  The Gold Pen Awards also recognized 22 individuals for their stand-out communications campaigns.

Pace has been with IABC Nashville since 2010 and was the recipient of the IABC Nashville 2011 Fellow Award.
