Pathfire and PR Newswire announced today that PR Newswire has been named the exclusive reseller of sponsored news distribution through the Pathfire Digital Media Gateway (DMG), a leading digital content distribution platform to television stations nationwide. Through Pathfire, PR Newswire clients will experience unparalleled access to U.S. television reporters and producers.

Public relations professionals, corporations, non-profit organizations, broadcast PR and video production companies will now be able to deliver video and commercial newswire content directly onto the desktops of television reporters and producers through Pathfire's DMG -- at the same level and within the same interface that they use to access their network news services. Offered exclusively through PR Newswire, this premier placement of video news releases (VNRs), satellite media tours (SMTs), b-roll and other sponsored video -- in addition to traditional commercial newswire content such as text news releases, photos and logos -- will significantly enhance the visibility of PR Newswire's clients' content in television newsrooms.

PR Newswire will archive all content it distributes through the Pathfire DMG on its media-only website, PR Newswire for Journalists, where it will be accessible to an additional 57,000 registered journalists. In addition, PR Newswire for Journalists will directly link off the Pathfire DMG providing television reporters and producers with access to PR Newswire's vast archive of content from its more than 40,000 members.

Commenting on the partnership, Tim Bahr, president of PR Newswire's broadcast and multimedia company, MultiVu, said, "By placing the new and archived video content, in addition to all other content assets, on the desktops of broadcast journalists at the same level as their network news services, we can ensure our clients receive an unmatched level of visibility."

As the majority of the major network news services switch from analog satellite feeds to Pathfire's digital delivery platform, reporters and producers at broadcast stations will rely on the Pathfire DMG to receive news content from a variety of sources in addition to the news services. Once the Pathfire DMG is deployed on a reporter's desktop, PR Newswire's "Video & Newswire" feed will automatically appear within the same interface as the network news services. Reporters and producers will be able to preview and access video news, text news, photos and logos from this single application.

"The media has relied upon PR Newswire as a trusted source of corporate content since 1954 and we are very proud to be partnering with them to enable broadcasters quicker access to this expert resource and vast database of outstanding content," said Mike Eckert, Pathfire CEO.

Launching in the first quarter of 2003 this service will be automatically available to all clients of MultiVu, PR Newswire's multimedia production company. PR Newswire will also offer this exclusive notification, delivery and archival service to all professional communicators including video production companies and in-house corporate video departments.
