"In creating video and radio specific pages, we are providing one location on the site where all of our broadcast-related content, such as sound bites and video, can be found immediately," said Larry Thomas, Vice President of MultiVu, PR Newswire's broadcast production and distribution company. "Whether you are an editor looking for ten more seconds of B-roll or a radio producer trying to book time for an interview, it's all in one central place."

The Video page features all of PR Newswire's video content including video news releases (VNRs), B-Roll and Satellite Media Tour (SMT) advisories with satellite coordinates and a Pathfire Digital Media Gateway identification number.

"This I.D. number distinguishes the PR Newswire video in Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway which is installed on computer desktops in hundreds of television newsrooms across the country," said Jim McCallum, Pathfire's Vice President of Broadcast. "All anyone in the newsroom has to do is search the I.D. number and from there they can preview and edit the video right at their desk."

The Radio page features audio news releases (ANRs) and other audio clips that can be accessed and previewed as well as an "All Releases" page where video, audio and web events are listed and archived.

Broadcasters also can sign up for the PR Newswire Broadcast Minute, a daily round-up of news briefs suitable for use by producers, reporters and radio hosts. Celebrity news, surveys, consumer and unique product announcements are typical news releases found in the Broadcast Minute.

In addition to the video and audio content, broadcast journalists can access information on expert sources and leads in ProfNet, PR Newswire's Experts Database, and a Directory of Contacts, as well as upcoming feature news packages and breaking news.

More than 60,000 journalists are registered at PR Newswire for Journalists. The site allows journalists to set up profiles to receive targeted, relevant news and information. The site contains every news release issued by PR Newswire's more than 40,000 members. PR Newswire for Journalists provides access to real-time corporate news organized into market-specific and geographic sectors/beats, groups and topics. Journalists can sign up to receive news by choosing from 59 industries, 41 subjects and 170 locations or by adding company names, keywords or phrases to their profiles. A new subject code of interest to radio and television is "broadcast feed announcement," a category enabling journalists to pull down advisories with video and audio.

Journalists register once and have automatic access to all services with each site visit. By setting up a personal profile, journalists select the type of news they want to receive based on industry, subject, company name, ticker symbol, geographic relevance, language, keyword and media type -- text, audio, video, pictures -- and the preferred email delivery format -- in batch or real-time.
