NEW YORK

PennWell Corporation, a highly diversified media company, announced an exclusive agreement with Qmags, the leading distributor of digital magazines, to deliver select PennWell publications in electronic format via the Internet.

The digital editions of PennWell's publications will replicate the print version, complete with original fonts, detailed graphics and all advertisements. Enhanced features include cross-title and full text search, archiving, hyperlinks to advertisers' websites, and the ability to print out pages and articles as desired. Qmag's "open platform" enables PennWell's readers to view their digital magazines in Adobe Reader, without having to download unfamiliar software. "To date, more than 500 million copies have been distributed," according to Adobe.

According to Gloria Adams, PennWell's Corporate Director of Audience Development, "PennWell chose Qmags as our digital vendor because of their use of an open platform (Adobe Acrobat), their ability to communicate with any operating system, their use of a standardized reader and their flexible business model."

New subscribers to PennWell's digital publications will benefit from real time delivery as well as access to a personal library of current and past issues. The highly-regarded Qtools reporting package offers PennWell on-demand circulation management and statistical analysis. "We are very pleased to welcome PennWell as a Qmags partner, and look forward to offering their readers both in the U.S. and overseas the benefits and convenience of digital delivery," said Scott Johnson, VP of Business Development.
