Severe London Congestion Warnings From RAC Trafficmaster Telematics

Following the terrorist attacks in London this morning Trafficmaster, the leading provider of real-time traffic information and its partner, RAC, warns drivers of long delays heading out of London.

As people start to make their way home, having been advised to stay where they were during the clean-up operation, traffic congestion will gradually get worse around 4.00pm this afternoon - which is earlier than the normal commuter peak time of between 6.00pm and 7.00pm.

  The worst hit roads will be:

  Northbound

  - A1 Holloway Road
  - A41 Finchley Road
  - A5 Edgware Road
  - A10 through Stoke Newington
  - M1
  - M11

  Westbound

  - A501 City Road
  - A4 Hammersmith Flyover
  - M4

  Eastbound

  - A13
  - A12

  Southbound

  - A23
  - A3
  - A20

Traffic delays are likely to occur throughout the evening. Roads that are already suffering from stationary and slow moving traffic include:

  - M4
  - A1
  - M25 North between junctions 23 and 25
  - M1 Junction 8
