Jim Romenesko, author of the widely read media web site that carries his name and averages 80,000 visitors daily, credits his success in part to posting often and early as he strives to best his competitors.

Romenesko was named Journalist of the Week by NewsTalk KRLA 870's Newsroom Confidential, a one-hour weekly radio program that provides an insiders' guide to journalism and public relations.

The 52-year-old Romenesko has been chronicling the best and worst of the media via his blog for the past seven years and since October 1999 has been found at the Poynter Institute Web site www.poynter.org/medianews/.

"For those wanting to be in the know when it comes to the media, Romenesko is part of their daily information diet and as such, Jim is among today's most influential journalists," says Dean Rotbart, host and executive producer of Newsroom Confidential.

Each week, the live radio program in conjunction with NewsBios.com, which provides in-depth dossiers on more than 6,000 leading journalists, singles out top journalists in their field and presents their profile, which aims to both inform and surprise listeners.

A sound clip of Olivia Mayer, editor of NewsBios.com, discussing Romenesko can be heard by going to the Newsroom Confidential (http://www.newsroomconfidential.com/) web site and clicking on Journalist of the Week.

This week's Newsroom Confidential program also features an interview with Miriam Silverberg, owner of a boutique New York public relations agency, Miriam Silverberg Associates.

Ms. Silverberg shares her insights on how even the smallest of agencies can compete and prosper. She has spent more than 20 years catering to some of the city's cultural clients, including the New York City Ballet, and some of Manhattan's big-name restaurants.
