Google VP Marissa Mayer to Speak at Harvard Business School Conference
Google on Buying Spree -- Acquires JotSpot, What's Next?
PRNewswire
BOSTON

This week, Google announced the acquisition of JotSpot, a web-based collaboration tool, for an undisclosed amount. Coming on the heels of the $1.65 billion purchase of YouTube, this transaction demonstrates Google's continuing business development efforts. However, what will Google's strategy look like going forward? Will they buy small teams or repeat large multi-billion dollar deals? These questions, and others, will be answered at Cyberposium on November 11, 2005, at the Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products and User Experience at Google, will be one of three keynotes at Cyberposium, an interactive forum examining the intersection of technology and business. She will discuss Google's successes to date and what Google needs to do to maintain growth and remain a technology leader going forward.

Cyberposium historically attracts approximately 1,000 attendees including C-level executives, venture capitalists, business and financial analysts, in addition to members of HBS faculty and students. Now in its 12th year, Cyberposium, the Harvard Business School student-run event is the largest business school technology conference. "The resources at Harvard Business School allow us to invite world-class speakers," said conference co-director Fabian Seelbach. "Past keynotes have included Jeff Bezos, Carly Fiorina, and Tom Siebel."

This year's Cyberposium theme is "Need directions? Mapping future technology." In addition to Ms. Mayer, other keynotes will be Ed Colligan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Palm, and Carl Bass, President and CEO of Autodesk.
