With tens of thousands of domestic editorial calendar opportunities to choose from, PR Newswire EdCals can be searched by keyword, subject, publication title, copy deadline date, and geographic location to generate a comprehensive list of publications matching a user's specific needs. Each search can be saved for future reference or exported into Microsoft Excel to be used to distribute news releases and other relevant information, or for sharing with colleagues or clients. Further, users can create notes on each individual editorial calendar listing to keep track of related activities. An editorial calendar is a publication's list of upcoming special sections and themes often relied on by communications and marketing professionals in preparation for pitches and advertisements.

"Researching editorial calendars to uncover relevant opportunities for coverage is an important, but often time-consuming media relations task," according to Ted Skinner, product manager, Media Intelligence Products, PR Newswire. "PR Newswire EdCals was designed to alleviate the burden of this research through the use of a highly intuitive and easy-to-use tool. Most editorial calendar services are offered only as part of a larger media database product, so by creating a standalone product, we are now able to offer this service to those who may maintain their own media lists or to those whose needs do not warrant a full-time subscription to a media database."

Among the thousands of publications PR Newswire EdCals will continually research and update for new calendars are BusinessWeek, Fortune, Forbes, Crain's, The Daily Deal, Wall Street & Technology, Women's Wear Daily, Harper's Bazaar, Sales & Marketing Magazine and Inc.

PR Newswire EdCals was developed in response to customers' requests, and joins other leading services within PR Newswire's Media Intelligence Product line that are designed to assist PR professionals with the day-to-day tasks associated with managing successful communications programs:
