As part of its 2007 Charitable Giving Program, 'Doing Well by Doing Good', PR Newswire employees select a charity, located in an area in which the company has substantial operations, for which they will volunteer as a group and to which the company will make a cash donation. New York Cares, an organization dedicated to meeting pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service, was one of a few charities selected by PR Newswire's New York and New Jersey offices, and has already benefited from the volunteer efforts of local the company's local staff.

"New York Cares makes it possible for tens of thousands of caring people to volunteer every year to address the city's most critical social issues," said Ariel Zwang, Executive Director of New York Cares. "PR Newswire's staff has demonstrated a strong commitment to the community through its work on New York Cares Day, and its employees have been gracious with their time and energy. This generous grant will support our volunteer programs, enabling us to better serve struggling men, women and children in the city who need volunteers' help the most."

Local PR Newswire staff volunteered for New York Cares Day on Oct. 20, 2007, painting murals and organizing the library at P.S. 153 in Northern Manhattan.

"PR Newswire employees were among the 8,500 caring New Yorkers that gave a helping hand on New York Cares Day," said Keith Crichlow, charitable giving advocate for PR Newswire's New York and New Jersey bureaus. "Everybody had a wonderful time lending a hand at P.S. 153."

"As a company with global operations and staff working in cities all around the world, it's important to us to give back to the community in which we work," said Charles Gregson, chief executive officer, PR Newswire. "We found through researching our program that as much as charities are seeking financial assistance, they are also extremely interested in finding dedicated volunteers. With this knowledge we designed a program that gave our staff a voice in the charity selection in order to maximize the volunteer participation. New York Cares is an extraordinarily worthy charity and we are very pleased to be able to assist them in this way."

PR Newswire provides assistance to non-profit organizations in a number of different ways including through direct grants, volunteerism, in-kind donations and sponsorships. PR Newswire also matches employee fundraising, volunteering and individual donations.
