RALEIGH, N.C.

In a nation rich with diverse cultures and ethnic identities, using just one approach to public relations can be limiting. The North Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is sponsoring a special program on maximizing multicultural initiatives on Thursday, Feb. 21 at Talecris Biotherapeutics in Research Triangle Park.

Christine Clavijo-Kish, senior vice president of multicultural markets for PR Newswire, will present a program entitled "From Media Relations to Measurement: Maximizing Your Multicultural Initiatives in 2008." Clavijo-Kish will feature insights, tactics and tools for the execution and measurement of successful multicultural public relations programs with a concentration on media relations. She will provide tips on setting goals and benchmarking Hispanic, African-American and Asian initiatives.

Clavijo-Kish has spent more than 10 years as a public relations and marketing practitioner, and is an expert in developing multicultural, multilingual strategies and promotions for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets. A graduate of the University of Miami, she was the vice president and leader of Porter Novelli's Multicultural Marketplace before becoming president of HispaniMark, the parent company of Hispanic PR Wire, Hispanic Digital Network and Latinclips, which were all acquired by PR Newswire.
