The awards were hosted in association with Barron's and the Wall Street Journal, and were co-sponsored by ACT Conferencing, the Bank of New York Mellon, Business Wire, Chorus Call, Deutsche Bank ADR Group, Edelman, Financial Times, GE, Georgeson, Innisfree M&A, Institutional Investor, Ipreo, Laurel Hill Advisory Group, MacKenzie Partners, Marketwire, NASDAQ, NIRI, NYSE Euronext, PrimeNewswire, PR Newswire, Sage Holdings, Shareholder.com, SNL IR Solutions, Thomson Financial and Verizon Business. The awards were also supported by the Partnership for New York City.

The awards are based on the results of an independent survey of more than 2,600 buy-side analysts, sell-side analysts and portfolio managers from both the US and abroad. The complete results of the survey are published in IR magazine's Investor Perception Study, US 2008.

The IR magazine investor perception studies together make up the world's largest survey of this kind, canvassing more than 5,000 analysts and investors in more than 14 countries and regions. Survey respondents nominate companies in specific categories and offer their opinions on IR-related topics and trends.
