Alerts.com (www.alerts.com), a free online alerts service that helps people create, manage and control how they receive information, today announced a partnership with PR Newswire, the global leader in text and multimedia distribution services.

Alerts.com aggregates content from multiple sources, thus eliminating the need to go to multiple sites for different types of information. As a result of the PR Newswire partnership, decision-makers, consumers and reporters alike can select keywords to identify news releases of interest from PR Newswire. The alert is then easily configured and the press release headline, first paragraph, and/or full release, is delivered via email. Users requesting delivery via text messaging will receive the header only.

With Alerts.com, users can choose exactly what they want - from breaking news to weather alerts to sports scores - combined with convenient reminders and calendar management. Instead of having to remember to go check a site for updates, the information of interest is delivered when and how desired.

"Our goal at Alerts.com is to help consumers and journalists stay informed and save time by streamlining the way they receive news, and it was clear to us that working with PR Newswire was an efficient method to deliver this essential service," said Alerts.com co-founder and CEO Pascal Stolz. "We're thrilled to launch this service with such a distinguished partner as PR Newswire."

"Alerts.com is ideal for people who need to define what content is of interest of them and to have that delivered, rather than having to continually search for it," said Jenny Scruggs, manager, Content Distribution for PR Newswire. "An investor can monitor companies, a business executive can be alerted to competitor announcements, a politician can stay abreast of policy issues or candidates, and everyday consumers can be alerted to news about brands or products they like, or subjects such as movie or music industry news."

PR Newswire is among the first alerts to be added to the consumer destination. Currently available in beta, Alerts.com plans to include additional services and alerts categories to meet the needs of consumers at its official unveiling later in 2008. New categories will include local gas pricing alerts, political campaign results, grocery prices, mortgage rates, traffic reports, and can even include content such as the latest "Dancing with the Stars," "American Idol" or local lottery results.

Consumers today are inundated with vast amounts of news information and notifications. Sorting through what is relevant, important or urgent is becoming more and more challenging. Alerts.com's user-friendly service helps users aggregate what they want and need--all from one secure source. All alerts can be delivered via email, text message and/or voice with additional distribution channels soon to be released.
